Fred's Adventure
A children's book
For a long time, I wanted to illustrate a children's book, so I did this in my free time. I created a fantasy-rich world where anything is possible.
The story is about an alien named Fred, who has lost his diary somewhere here on Earth. During his search, he meets Sophie. He helps her with her airplane craft project, and together they set off to find his diary.
I started by sketching a storyboard, first on paper and then refining it digitally. I wanted to create a fun and engaging storyline and made sure to design different compositions on each spread.
I then started developing and sketching the two characters. I sketched out how I wanted them to look and how they would appear from different angles.
Once the storyboard was finalized, I started refining all the spreads. I added more details to bring the story to life.
Once the story was complete and I was happy with the sketches, I started illustrating. Here you can see a selection of the finished illustrations from the children’s book.
